I’m Emma- the founder of Croí Óg Occupational Therapy.

Croí Óg was created to support children and adolescents in building the tools they need to navigate life’s challenges and to feel confident participating in the activities that are meaningful to them. At its heart, Croí Óg is about supporting young people to feel understood, capable, and empowered in their everyday lives.

I am a CORU-registered Occupational Therapist with a deep commitment to child and adolescent mental health. I have worked across the Health Service Executive Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and private paediatric settings, supporting young people and their families at different stages of development.

Throughout my work, I have supported young people experiencing anxiety, low mood, eating differences, and the impact of trauma. I have seen how mental health challenges can affect daily routines, school participation, friendships, family life, and a young person’s sense of identity and self-worth. My role is to gently support young people in rebuilding confidence, developing coping strategies, and reconnecting with the occupations and relationships that give their lives meaning.

I have a particular passion for supporting the wellbeing of neurodivergent young people. My practice is grounded in a neuroaffirmative approach, recognising neurodiversity as a natural and valuable part of human variation. I have undertaken additional training in this area and work collaboratively with young people and families to support emotional regulation, self-understanding, identity development, and participation in ways that honour each young person’s unique profile of strengths and needs.

Every young person who comes through the door is met with a strengths-based, compassionate, and collaborative approach. I aim to create a space where they feel safe, heard, and respected. Through evidence-based, occupation-focused interventions, I support young people to recognise their abilities, build resilience, and move toward a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling to them.
